Learning how to use the Fujifilm XE-5 has been a weird experience, and my third shoot with it at LSU was no different. One of the things I tried experimenting with was pre-setting the white balance and film simulations to boost the festive color cascade of purple and gold in the photographs without having to edit afterward. However, managing dynamic range at the same time was something I didn’t do very well, so some photos came out extremely high contrast while others were washed out. The added grain simulation was also something I found myself not being a fan of, either, and ended up turning it off later in the shoot. Regardless of my troubles, there were a couple of good hits that came out of this shoot, all of which managed to look slightly better with some minor touch ups. And the tigers won, so that was also a big plus for the day.
