As a Louisiana Native, Mardi Gras is as big of a season for me as Christmas would be for the rest of the United States. I make it a point to go every year like it’s a holy pilgrimage for my Cajun soul. Like every other year, this year did not disappoint! I was able to make it to four parades, including walking in one (as seen from my last photography post). Naturally, the camera comes with me to these events, and I was able to shoot all four of them. The first being Muses, then Tucks with the King Cake Babies, then Proteus, and finally Orpheus. Shooting in low light situations can be a bit of a bear, but the new XE-5 did a fantastic job capturing what I wanted. After some Lightroom touch-ups, they may be some of my favorite edits I’ve ever done. The vibrant colors and wild subjects make for some visually stunning shots, all of which are fun to edit.
