PROJECT BRIEF |
Formula SAE is a collegiate motorsports design competition group that hosts events for over 600 universities. Each competition requires teams to design, develop, and race a 2/3 scale formula 1 style race car, and each event can have anywhere between 80 to 130 teams competing at a time. Louisiana State University was ranked in the top 15% globally by the end of 2021, making them one of the top competitors in the internal combustion category. Students in each team have the opportunity to take charge of developing one of the various subsystems required to make the competition vehicles work, giving them opportunity to put their academic work to real world use as they go through school.
The booklet attached to this page includes 4 projects led from 2016 - 2021, which includes examples of both industrial design skills and engineering skills applied to multiple projects for the team.
