FROM LOUISIANA WITH LOVESouth Louisiana is well known around the world as one of the most unique cultural hubs in the United States. Bejeweled with excellent cuisine, unique music, and festivals for anything (really, anything!), creativity reigns supreme throughout all of the traditions favored by the locals. Wether they be Cajun, Creole, African, or European in roots, all things that find themselves to be uniquely Louisiana have always been rooted in a desire to celebrate life. Such a philosophy is even written in the area’s unofficial motto: "Laissez les bons temps rouler!" Or, translated: "let the good times roll!”
Having been raised in this region, the same panache for celebrating life was engraved deeply into my personal and professional values. It doesn't matter wether the product is a boat, a car, a medical mask, or something as simple as a spoon. All of these things are a part of people's lives. So, If you can make it good, then make it really good! Such a philosophy has led me to pursue two degrees during my time in college: one in industrial design (2012 - UL Lafayette) and one in mechanical engineering (2021 - LSU). Combined with my work experience, both of these degrees have given me the unique opportunity to see the difference in perspective between all disciplines involved in developing a product. Understanding the artistic side of design and the technical prowess of engineers has become an essential keystone in learning how to understand what is important for sales, marketing, supplier needs, and customer desires. At the end of the day, all departments look for the same thing: a good quality product that people want to connect with. My mission as a designer is to ensure that happens, because the "joie de vivre" (joy of living) as us Cajuns would say, deserves to be available for everyone to own. Enjoy nosing around the portfolio! If you have any questions about the projects on display, feel free to contact me via e-mail or phone. You can find the contact page here, as well as download a resume for review. Au revoir! |
